College professors regularly take sabbaticals to take deeper dives into subjects, returning to the classroom refreshed and with even more knowledge to share with their students. GPSN thought this model would work for K-12 teachers as well and funded "Passion Projects" at Aspire Public Schools. Teachers there could take time away from the classroom to study whatever topics they found fascinating, and many of those teachers have come back with next and creative ways of teaching and inspiring their students.
